Chicago, Illinois Jul 13, 2026 (Issuewire.com) Crystal Lundberg is encouraging people to rethink what success looks like by focusing less on perfect outcomes and more on the daily habits that create meaningful change over time.
Drawing from her own journey of overcoming childhood adversity, spending years in and out of foster care, and building a career in business management and marketing, Lundberg is speaking out about the importance of resilience, education, and personal responsibility in creating new opportunities.
“I define success as growth, resilience, and the ability to create a meaningful life despite adversity,” Lundberg said. “Success is not only measured by accomplishments, financial stability, or career advancement, but by the person you become throughout the journey.”
Lundberg believes many people underestimate the impact that small, consistent actions can have on long-term success.
“I believe consistency is more important than perfection,” she said. “I start by identifying long-term goals and then break them down into smaller, achievable short-term steps.”
Her message comes at a time when many people report feeling overwhelmed about their careers and future. According to Gallup, nearly six in 10 employees worldwide are not engaged at work, while 15% report feeling actively disengaged, affecting both well-being and productivity. Meanwhile, the American Psychological Association reports that 77% of adults experience stress that affects their physical health, and 73% say stress affects their mental health. Research from the National Center for Education Statistics also continues to show that individuals with higher levels of education generally experience stronger employment outcomes and higher lifetime earnings. In addition, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics consistently finds that unemployment rates tend to decrease as educational attainment increases.
For Lundberg, those statistics reinforce the importance of investing in personal growth rather than waiting for circumstances to improve.
“Education became more than a goal for me,” Lundberg said. “It became a way to transform my future.”
Growing up in Rockford, Illinois, Lundberg experienced instability throughout much of her childhood due to family challenges. One of the defining moments in her life came when a family welcomed her into their home, giving her an example of stability, encouragement, and unconditional support.
“They showed me what love truly looked like,” Lundberg said. “For the first time in my life, I experienced stability, warmth, and unconditional love.”
Those experiences continue to shape how she approaches both her career and her personal life. Today she works as an Office Manager and Marketing Coordinator, helping businesses improve organization, branding, marketing, and operational systems while continuing to pursue higher education in Business Management and Marketing.
Lundberg hopes her story reminds others that difficult beginnings do not determine where someone can go.
“In moments of self-doubt, I remind myself how far I have already come and everything I have overcome,” she said. “Growth often happens during uncomfortable seasons, and perseverance is what creates transformation.”
Rather than focusing on dramatic life changes, Lundberg encourages people to begin with simple actions they can control.
She recommends writing down long-term goals, breaking them into manageable weekly tasks, continuing to learn new skills, creating daily routines, and celebrating consistent progress instead of waiting for perfect results.
“Growth should never stop, regardless of how much success someone achieves,” Lundberg said. “I am always striving to become a better version of myself.”
Call to Action
Crystal Lundberg encourages individuals to take one practical step today toward the future they want to build. Whether that means enrolling in a class, organizing personal goals, reading a new book, learning a skill, reaching out to a mentor, or simply writing down one achievable goal for the week, small actions performed consistently can create meaningful long-term change.
