San Francisco, California Sep 9, 2026 (Issuewire.com) As spring arrives in South Africa, bringing with it a sense of renewal, three Earthdance gatherings across the country will come together this September as part of our global celebration.
Earthdance is a worldwide movement that brings people together through music and dance, culminating in a simultaneous global Prayer for Peace. On September 19, 2026, communities around the world will pause together in a shared moment of intention; a reminder that beneath our different cultures, languages and backgrounds, we all share the same desire for connection, belonging and a more compassionate world.
This year’s global theme is The Heart & Beat of Humanity, speaking directly to the heart that connects us, the beat that moves us, and the humanity that exists between us.
South Africa has been part of the Earthdance story for many years, and in 2026 the country will once again host three distinct gatherings in Johannesburg, Cape Town and the Garden Route, each bringing its own character and community to the global celebration.
JOHANNESBURG
In Johannesburg, Earthdance will take over the outdoor riverside setting of Fun Valley Pleasure Resort in Walkerville, bringing together multiple stages, professional sound and lighting, a multi-genre musical lineup and plenty of space to camp, swim and spend the weekend outdoors.
The venue offers something for festival-goers of all ages, with multiple swimming pools and a dedicated kids’ area alongside the main stages.
All ticket passes include free shaded camping, while those looking for a little more comfort can book accommodations within the resort.
The Johannesburg Earthdance will support Fields of Green as its beneficiary, supporting cannabis policy reform.

CAPE TOWN
In Cape Town, Earthdance is a journey that began weeks before the September festival itself. A series of gatherings has been building toward the main Earthdance weekend, each exploring a different part of this year’s theme: Heart, Beat and Humanity.
Heart took place at Love in a Bowl in Hout Bay. It was about bringing people together in community before the music and momentum of the festival, serving as a reminder that the relationships built along the way are what make the final weekend meaningful.
Beat, a night at Leopard’s Rest Hall in Hout Bay, focused on rhythm, movement and the dancefloor. With trance, psytrance and the energy of Sonic Horizon, the gathering brought the musical heartbeat of Earthdance to the forefront.
Humanity took place on August 21 at BIBLIO in Cape Town, bringing together psy-tech, psytrance and techno for one last city gathering before the community heads to the farm for the annual Earthdance gathering.
Together, these events have been building to create relationships, momentum and a sense of shared participation before the main Earthdance event. From September 18-20, the journey culminates at Kromrivier Farm in the Western Cape for three days of music, workshops, ceremonies, camping, markets and community beneath the mountains. The setting itself is part of the experience: open farmland surrounded by mountains, a river to swim in, and wide night skies far removed from the city.
At its center is the Prayer for Peace at 01:00 SAST on Saturday, September 19, when Earthdance communities around the world link up in a synchronized global moment.
The Cape Town gathering will support Love in a Bowl as its beneficiary, ensuring the community has access to nutritious food, regardless of circumstances, and empowering the next generation to become mindful stewards of the environment.

GARDEN ROUTE
Garden Route will be continuing its long-standing connection to the global Earthdance movement.
Against the backdrop of the Garden Routes stunning natural beauty, including its rugged coastline, Indigenous forests, and majestic mountains, the local Earthdance community continues to find a deep resonance with the festivals mission of fostering global unity through music, dance, and community. The synchronized affirmations for peace taking place on September 19 serve as a powerful call to align with natures rhythms while connecting with Earthdance gatherings around the world.
The event will support Rosemoor Home for the Aged, extending Earthdance’s tradition of turning celebration into meaningful community support.
Further event details and information will be shared by the Garden Route organizers.
